How to prepare for JEE Mains Exams

JEE is a national level entrance exam for getting admissions into premier institutes like IIT, NIT, ISM, IIIT, etc. JEE is conducted in 2 phases – JEE Mains & JEE Advanced. The IIT JEE exam is considered to be a tough entrance exam as the questions askedindirectly and takes a lot of time to solve a question.

JEE 2017 – How to Measure your preparation?

With only four months left for your preparation for the IIT-JEE 2017, it is crucial to schedule your preparation in such a way that you cover maximum syllabus with the utmost efficiency before the D-day.By now, you must be having an idea of how the questions in the examination are to betackled; now, you must measure how well you can fair in the examination. Chapter Wise Practice Tests

This is first and foremost step to measure your preparation as the questions that are asked in IIT JEE involve a great deal of thinking apart from the fundamental knowledge base of the subject. Thus, you must test your skills towards solving the questions based on the topics given in the syllabus. You must schedule chapter wise timed tests for all the topics with a rotation in the subject you are dealing with. Since all the subjects have an individual cut off and carry same marks, you must give equal attention to all the subjects.

Participating in Test series

Many online and offline test series are available; that have questions in the same format as that asked in the IIT JEE. Also, the tests are held in two sessions, with proper assessment and all India rankings. In the last six months of your preparation, it is important to start appearing for these test series that cover all the chapters at once. This will also help you assess your performance on the national scale.

List of Topics

Make a list of topics that are to be covered in a subject, taking reference from the IIT JEE syllabus. Mark the topics as per their level of difficulty and note down the areas that require special attention. Allocate extra time to these difficult topics and practice chapter wise questions for these topics regularly.
